Volume II: The Uncanny as a Concept Over Time

This volume concludes the two part investigation into the phenomena of the uncanny as detected across historic, modern and futuristic examples of the interior. The findings from the analysis of theory, history, literature and precedents, have been translated into a design concept that is applicable to any built form or typology with an endless number of wondrous applications. The practice-led methodology was utilised to allow for the opportunity to conduct creative research and experiments in order to uncover potential answers to my research question. The final idea is expressed through a pair of creative narratives and design images that describe the uncanny as a concept over time.
