For this group task, we were required to develop a retail design concept and complete set of construction drawings for the space in twelve weeks. Our design idea was to create an angelic and ethereal experience within the store “Divine Intervention”. Taking inspiration from the French Gothic architecture of cathedrals and other religious spaces, we were looking to create a heavenly experience when walking into the luxury store.

Divine Interventions’ design was focused on the spatial experience as well as the materials incorporated into the design in order to create this ethereal atmosphere. Through carefully considered lighting, elements of French Gothic Architecture and materials, we aimed to create a unique, luxurious design, allowing Divine Intervention to be a space that invokes a sense of divinity and awe. The materiality for this jewellery store reflected a refined mood board coupled with natural finishes and a seamless colour palette. The raw finishes of stone and ornate plaster create a breathtaking setting that echoes that of the grand religious cathedrals being brought into this project.

For this task, I contributed heavily to the creation of the initial concept and design direction, the development of the return brief, visuals and the group presentations. I ensured consistency across the drawing package by creating the title block and documentation drawing style. I collated our drawing package after generating the transmittal and all the corresponding labels, markers, keys, titles and page numbers.
